Storage Gems
3August 19, 2012 by Kim Perkinson
Inspired by my last post and all of the great options available for home organization at the Container Store, I decided to bring you my latest storage finds from the antique world. Whether you’re looking to house, organize or display your items, these carefully crafted pieces could certainly suit your needs.
The above items range in age from the 1700s to the present and come from all over the world – Japan, China, France, Italy, Argentina, Denmark, India, England and the United States. One of my favorites is the stacked Japanese writing box from the 1920s, decorated with cherry blossoms and hundreds of flying birds. The French artist chest dates back to 1775. The top of the chest is removable and can be used as a stool. The pasta cabinet is from Italy. It’s twenty drawers were used to hold pasta in a retail shop in the early 1900s. So much history and craftsmanship in these pieces and the others above…I hope you enjoy!
